Welcome to the page of Tom Goldner
This space is independent of social media algorithms. Here you will find my projects, news and events.
I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land and waters on which I live, work and travel. As a person who seek meaning and knowledge through storytelling, I recognise that the First Peoples of this land have been doing so for over 60,000 years. I pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging.
I’m an artist and curator of photography residing on Wurundjeri country in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria.
My work is centred around the belief that photography is a progressive and socially-charged medium which allows for an exchange of knowledge and understanding.
Rather than viewing photographs as a ‘record of truth’, I use an experimental approach to storytelling, I’m interested in the intersection between ecology and art. Through my projects, animals and other-than-human life act as an entry point into the ways humans relate to the environment.
Since 2005 I’ve actively worked as a commercial photographer, curator and art director. I’ve built and facilitated a number of initiatives and currently hold the position of Co-Creative Director at Photo Collective.
